Site Under Construction
Who is Twin Cities Tenant Union?
TCTC is a group of tenant organizers from different associations and organizations dedicated to connecting all tenants and organizers in the twin cities. With the launch of this site, we aim to provide a central forum for communication so that decentralized tenant organizations will have a place to meet and hold dialogue. We maintain neutrality and are a mobilizing organization, not an organizational body.
Launching on May Day
We launch on May Day to celebrate the Twin Cities’ largest festival of labor. May Day is a day of community, solidarity and unity, and we are honored to establish our site on such an important day to our neighbors in the Twin Cities!
📱 Start Tenant Organizing: Join the STO Signal Chat
The STO Signal group is a general chat for all tenants and was the inspiration for this website project. In our chat you can directly communicate with other tenants and organizers, and you can find a way to plug into the network and get organizing!
Signal is an encrypted messaging platform available in the Google Play and Apple Store. By using this chat, organizers can have a layer of privacy that encrypts messages between devices, making anyone outside of the communication unable to read them, even if they get a hold of the data.

Hey neighbor!
You’ve landed at the Start Tenant Organizing (STO) general chat. This chat is operated by Twin Cities Tenant Connection (TCTC), a collective of tenant organizers from different organizations seeking to unite all tenants through communication and dialogue. We ask before you engage with the chat that you check out the code of conduct below (TLDR: It’s simple, just be civil).
Links below!I scanned a QR code and now I’m here, what is this chat for?
We developed this chat as a way for tenants to meet organizers who can help them build good relations with their neighbors and eventually form tenant associations. This is also a place for sharing knowledge and events related to the tenant struggle, and for asking questions in general.
You’ll likely find some folks who have the same problems with their landlord that you do. You might even find neighbors with the same landlord.
Ok, so what do I do now?
Please introduce yourself and tell the chat who your landlord is! Chances are you’ll run into someone with the same landlord. If not, events get posted frequently to this chat, and all are welcome to post their own.
Why should I form a tenant association?
By forming a tenant association, not only do you get to know your neighbors, you get to help each other in dealing with your landlord. Together you have the capacity to do the research, write letters, and make demands of your landlord in one unified voice that they will take seriously.
By equipping yourself and your association with knowledge and strategy – and by connecting with experienced organizers – you will succeed in realizing your power as tenants together.
I’m ready to get started, but don’t know how.
